Day Four of Ibiza JoySail 2026 and it’s time to declare the victors.
The Ibiza JoySail brought its sixth edition to a spectacular close with a 16-nautical-mile race off the coast of Ibiza, serving as the culmination of three days’ competition.
With less wind forecast today, a shorter course with multiple marks was presented by the Race Committee. Upwind and downwind legs tested tactics, and the fleet was again split at the downwind marks with the Performance Class rounding to port and Performance 2, Performance 3, and World Cruising taking the mark to starboard.
Course lines converged ahead of the finish.
Cole Parada, Tactician for MOAT, highlighted the entire team’s role in their victory: “The crew is outstanding, they have the boat in perfect shape – there’s a lot of hard work behind this, and the results speak for themselves.”
Regarding this year’s regatta, he noted: “The great thing about Ibiza is the wide variety of courses, which makes for a very enjoyable regatta; plus, we’ve had excellent sailing conditions with steady, beautiful winds.”
First over the finish line was POINT COUNTER POINT, also securing her the Performance Cruising class 3 win. In this class, it was ROSE who took the Owner Driver trophy.
In Performance Cruising 2, CERVO again led the class around the course and secured her third win of the week – winning the class overall, and the Owner Driver Trophy. Winning for those sailing under Corinthian Spirit in that class, was BELLA.
NOSTROMO was victorious in the World Cruising class, with a double title also winning for Corinthian. Winning the Owner Driver trophy in this class, was AURELIUS.
Justin Blackmore, from NOSTROMO, was very happy: “It’s a real honour to win our class in Ibiza. The level of the fleet is very competitive and this is our third year here, so we’ve been improving steadily.”
In Performance Cruising 1, the win was WINWIN’s – though beaten by GELLICEAUX in today’s race, their prior two firsts secured them the title.
And finally, winning the Performance class – for the sixth time at Ibiza JoySail, MOAT.
